Glass Roots Construction (GRC) is a brand-new team but was founded by a team of well-funded career telecom and construction professionals. We look to leverage the latest technologies, best-in-industry equipment, and up-to-date construction and safety practices to build a first-class fiber optic utility construction firm in multiple markets throughout the US. We need skilled Excavator Operators who are local to the Colorado area! This position will report to the Market Manager and represents an opportunity to join an active, well-funded team on the ground floor, learn a lot, and advance your career as GRC grows!

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Must be able to operate various types of heavy equipment, such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, compactors, articulated dump trucks, and/or front-end loaders
• Ensures equipment is in good working order, at all times
• Must possess skill, coordination, and awareness to operate heavy equipment in a safe manner with precision and efficiency
• Willingness to operate heavy equipment for long periods with continuous attention to detail and safety
• Maintain consistent communication among field crew members by use of hand signals or radio to align and position heavy equipment properly
• Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the job site
• Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment on the truck
• Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis - JSA prior to starting construction
• Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic
• May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies, or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed
• Ability to follow instructions

Ability to commute or relocate:

• Travel is Required
• We tend to stay local to CO, but we will move around the state.
• Some out of state work may take place

Experience:

• Excavator: 1 year (Required)
• Experience is (Required)
• FTTH, FTTX Experience (Preferred) 

License/Certification:

• Must Have Valid Driver’s License
• CDL A (Preferred)

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• 10-hour shift
• 12-hour shift
• Day shift - Monday to Friday 
• Night shift - Sunday to Thursday
• On call
• Overtime
• Weekend availability
